Looking to overseed my Fescue and wanted to know why Jonathan Sod Maker Grass Seed 3Lb covers 4800 sq ft which is more than any 3lb Kentucky Bluegrass seed competitor? Are you guys giving more seed, your stuff is just that good, I would like to know the difference please?

Bluegrass seeds produce on average 1-1.5 million seeds per pound. The normal new lawn seeding rate is 1 pound per 1000 square feet. The 4800 sq ft coverage is reflecting the over seeding rate of 3/4 pounds per 1000 square feet. Typically companies list a lower rate because they do not believe that you will get that kind of coverage although you can. If you are looking to overseed a fescue lawn with something like a bluegrass we were recommend using our Black Beauty Ultra grass seed. It fills in bare spots quickly and is comprised of both tall fescue and Kentucky bluegrass. For more on Black Beauty Ultra please visit http://www.jonathangreen.com/index.cfm/product/1/3/
