We live in Springfield, VT. We had a new lawn planted this summer (July, August)We used JG sun and shade. We followed all the contractors advice, some parts came up well, some are very shoddy. We mowed, raked and reseeded but that seed is not coming up as well.
Now we will do fall seeding and use mirical as well as winter fertilizer. We want to try and seed one more time. Should we use black beauty this time or stay with sun and shade? Our lawn is more shady as the summer wanes. We'd like to get an edge on the lawn before winter. Also wonder if we have time for two treatments before winter (might frost up north this week!)

Hi Mary & Bill - We would recommend seeding with our Black Beauty Ultra grass seed this fall. It will do well in the shady and sunny parts of the lawn. The same day you seed also apply Mag-I-Cal Calcium Fertilizer and Love Your Lawn-Love Your Soil. This organic duo will not only help the soil pH but improve the quality of the soil itself making it more porous and alive. Lastly fertilize with Winter Survival Fall Fertilizer. You can do one application of Winter Survival now and one more around the end of October. We recommend waiting 6-8 weeks between fertilizer applications.
