I’m going to buy your product today, Can I do the organic method of weed prevention and seed on the same day. Also should I also do magical as well this spring if I’m going the organic route. M

If you apply Organic Weed Preventer, you cannot seed for 60 to 90 days. We recommend fall seeding as the warm soil temperatures and reduced pressure from germinating weeds yield better results. You can add an additional application of Mag-I-Cal in the spring if your soil pH warrants it.

I just applied your crabgrass preventer on 4-8-17. When can put on your weed and fertilizer product?
Jonathan Green | April 10, 2017 at 9:07 am
Apply the Green Up Weed and Feed around May 13th, weather permitting.

I want to go with the organic program, but would like to seed my patchy lawn this spring (already got the black beauty mixed seeds to patch really bad spot dig up by raccoon). I will treat for grubs with Milky spores and beneficial nematodes in a month or so, but that’s a different subject.
So reseeding in the spring means that I have to skip the Organic weed preventer plus lawn food, but should I use all the other elements of the wheel at seeding time (i.e. mag-i-cal (pending ph test result), Love your soil and organic lawn food)?
I might also reseed again in the fall as you recommend.

Yes, if you wish to reseed in the spring do not apply the Organic Weed Preventer. You can use Organic Lawn Food instead.

Are all your product pet friendly or only the organics?
Jonathan Green | April 18, 2017 at 4:18 pm
Jonathan Green’s organic products are safe for children and pets immediately after application. These products contain feed-grade ingredients, commonly used in animal and pet foods.
After applying these products, water your lawn to move the fertilizer to the roots. Once the grass has dried, people and pets are safe to re-enter the lawn area.
Lawn Weed Control and Green Up Weed & Feed:
Lawn Weed Control and Green-Up Weed & Feed are used to control and suppress broadleaf weeds. In order to work properly, they should not be watered in. Therefore, it is safe to re-enter the lawn area 48 hours after application. In this time the product has moved from the plants leaf to the roots, making it safe for children and pets.
Follow all label directions for products that contain pesticide controls for re-entry instructions. All control products have been screened by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and are properly labeled for use on lawns or gardens. Please read and follow all label directions.

My lawn is yellowing. I am using the organic program and applied love your soil about 6 weeks ago. Can I apply it again to help green up the grass?
Jonathan Green | July 12, 2017 at 10:07 am
If there is no fungus Present, apply Organic Lawn Food to help green up the grass.

I applied your product last night and was told there would be no storm in the next two days. well a pop up thunderstorm came and went. Will this product have to be reapplied or will a day of dryness be ok?
Jonathan Green | July 12, 2017 at 3:07 pm
Which product did you apply?

Hi. I would like to do a combination of fall seeding and organic weed control. Is this possible? And if so, what is the appropriate timing?
Jonathan Green | August 9, 2017 at 11:46 am
Organic Weed Preventer will also prevent grass seeds from sprouting.

Last spring I seeded a few big bare patches in my lawn with Black Beauty Ultra and I’m pleased with the results. At the same time I purchased the seed, I purchased Love Your Soil and Lawn Food. I’m a total novice at this, so I don’t know what I’m doing.
I have lots of weeds in my yard but I want to go with organic products. I’d like to try overseeding this fall. Should I use the Love Your Soil and Lawn Food now and would it be okay if I do them both the same day? Then I can seed in a couple of weeks? Thanks for your help!

You can apply Organic Lawn Food and Love Your Soil a week or two before you seed. We also suggest having your soil pH tested. Weeds thrive in low pH.

What do you recommend for “dormant seeding”. Does the soil need to be loosened or will freeze and thaw bury the seed? When should the seed, fertilizer and magical be applied? Should I top dress with mushroom manure?
Jonathan Green | October 24, 2017 at 9:00 am
Dormant seeding can be done anytime the lawn is dormant – usually between November and February. Rake the soil to loosen it, apply seed and then cover it with about 1/4 inch of soil (or mushroom manure) or use a slice seeder. In theory, the freeze thaw cycle will pull the seed into the soil but the results are much better if you rake it in or slice seed.

Is Love Your Soil a good product for sandy soils in warmer climates for warm season grass; i.e. bermuda or centipede? My soil may not be as compacted as clay, but could sure use the nutrients found in Love Your Soil?
Jonathan Green | November 27, 2017 at 11:16 am
Being an organic product, Love Your Soil will absolutely benefit the soil in a warm season zone. Love Your Soil improves soil in three ways. First, it loosens hard soil so air, water and nutrients penetrate the root zone of turf. Second, Love Your Soil contains a powerful 5-way formula of humates, calcium, sulfur, iron, and molasses that FEED THE SOIL microbial life. Third, and most importantly, Love Your Soil is uniquely fortified with L-Amino Acids which build the “natural- bridges” between the soil microbes and grass roots to insure nutrients are fully absorbed by the turf. Additionally, these amino acids assist in protein formation and boost the plant’s immunity to disease.
