In response to the June 21, 2013 post - We recommend waiting 6-8 weeks between any fertilizer applications to your lawn. Otherwise you risk over fertilizing. That would also include applying Green-Up. If you feel the need to put down more insect control you could use our Lawn Insect Control or Pest Kill every 30 days. These two insecticides do not contain fertilizer. - Jonathan Green

I am about to apply Summer Survival. When is the best time of day to put it down and doesnt it matter if we are in a heat wave? Should I water it in right away even ifs its on a really hot day? Or I should I time it for when it rains?

July 09, 2013

In response to the July 9 post- The time of day does not matter as much as the need to water in the product after applying. With the hot, dry weather you want to be sure to water it in.

July 10, 2013

In response to the August 1 post- The label recommends waiting until the product has dried on the lawn before allowing children and pets on the lawn. Then it is perfectly safe for the pets to go on the lawn. Thank you. Jonathan Green

Do you need to apply the grub control product when using Summer Survival? I just started using Jonathan Green products this fall. My lawn has never looked better. Not using Scott's anymore!

October 27, 2013

In response to the October 27 post - Summer Survival only controls surface feeding insects like chinch bugs, ants, fleas, etc. You do need to use Grub Control for grubs. We do have a product called Grub Control that you can apply if your lawn is suffering from grub damage. We are so pleased to hear you are happy with the products thank you for the nice comments. Thank you Jonathan Green

In response to the July 9th post - Apply Summer Survival to a dry lawn and then water in after applying. We do not recommend applying when the daytime temps are consistently 85 degrees and higher as any fertilizer application in those temperatures can stress a lawn. You can view the product label with more information here: http://www.jonathangreen.com/image/filecollections/Summer%20Survival%20Fertilizer%2013-0-3%20Label.pdf. Thank you, Jonathan Green

In response to the July 12 post - You will most likely get decent insect control at the regular rate that is listed on the bag but for the best results that is what the label suggests. Thank you, Jonathan Green Seedsmen

First year using JG products. Just purchased Summer Survival based on the labeling 15,000 sq. ft. coverage. When I got home and read spreader settings it was then I realized the coverage was only 7500 sq.ft. if you want to kill ants chinch bugs etc. Next product I purchase, I will be sure to read the back label to evaluate if the product/pricing is competitive to JG competition.
