In response to the August 10 post - This product does not control existing crabgrass it is strictly a pre-emergent control. If it was applied recently in the hot summer temperatures it could stress the lawn. It is best to not apply any traditional fertilizers to the lawn when it is over 85 degrees as this risks lawn stress. Please email us and let us know what steps you took when applying this product so we can better diagnose what may have happened. You can write to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you. - Jonathan Green

Applied the product as directed with spring seeding on about April 15, 2013. Good results for spring seeding. New seed came in well, not too much crabgrass. The garden center said we could expect about 85% effectiveness for crabgrass control with this product, in comparison with the normal Dimension pre-emergent (JG stage 1 fertilzer) which is more effective for crabgrass control, but also would prevent new grass seed from germinating. They warned me (as do the instructions on the bag) that the Tupersan pre-emergent in this fertilzer wears off after about 6 weeks. In our case that was on about June 1, when the crabgrass is just getting started. We also had monsoon rains in May, so I assumed the Tupersan might have worn off sooner. So after an online exchange with Jonathon Green, I applied the normal JG Stage 1 fertilizer, to reduce the onslaught of crabgrass, as we had a lot of it in 2012 (no pre-em for several years before that). JG advised me that once the new grass seed had germinated and had been mowed a few times, OK to use normal pre-em. Pleased overall, as this product enables spring seeding without the usual crabgrass invasion that accompanies spring seeding. Every landscaper I know recommends fall seeding to get better germination with fewer weeds, but this product enables good results with spring seeding too.

I used this on my newly seeded lawn and it burned it up. I am very upset. Is this why there are no reviews posted on this. Please send reply
