Veri-Green Crabgrass Preventer plus Lawn Fertilizer provides post-emergent control of crabgrass up to the third leaf stage of growth. Because lawns need a pick-me-up after the harsh winter months, this 2-in-1 action product includes nitrogen-rich fertilizer to promote an early spring greening and feed the lawn for up to 3 months.
To safeguard your lawn for summer and ensure it has enough nutrients to survive through hot summer days, use Veri-Green Weed & Feed Lawn Fertilizer in late spring. Veri-Green Weed & Feed Lawn Fertilizer controls over 250+ types of broadleaf weeds, such as dandelions and chickweed. Once applied, it works to kill weeds down to the root. Veri-Green Weed and Feed also contains fertilizer to gently feed your lawn and keep it green for up to 3 months.

When to Apply
Veri-Green Crabgrass Preventer plus Lawn Fertilizer: For best results, apply in the spring prior to the germination of crabgrass and other grassy weeds. Crabgrass germinates once soil temperatures reach 55°F, so it is best to apply when air temperatures are between 50 – 75°F.
Veri-Green Weed & Feed Lawn Fertilizer: Apply this product when dandelions, clover, and other broadleaf weeds are actively growing in spring or fall. Do not apply when temperatures are over 85° Fahrenheit.

Veri-Green Crabgrass Preventer plus Lawn Fertilizer: Apply to a dry lawn a day or two after mowing.
Veri-Green Weed & Feed Lawn Fertilizer: Apply to a damp lawn. The particles need to cling to the leaves of the weeds for the herbicide to work.

No, we don’t recommend applying two of our weed controls or fertilizers together, as you risk burning your lawn.

Safe for Children & Pets
Veri-Green Crabgrass Preventer plus Lawn Fertilizer: We recommend waiting at least 24 hours for people and pets to enter the treated area after application to allow the product to activate. After applying Veri-Green Crabgrass Preventer plus Lawn Fertilizer, water your lawn to move the fertilizer to the roots. Once the grass has dried, people and pets are safe to re-enter the lawn area.
Veri-Green Weed & Feed Lawn Fertilizer: It is safe to re-enter the lawn area 48 hours after application. In this time the product has moved from the plant’s leaf to the roots, making it safe for children, pets etc.
Follow all label directions for products that contain pesticide controls for re-entry instructions. All control products have been screened by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and are properly labeled for use on lawns or gardens. Please read and follow all label directions.

Can I use Veri-Green with Crabgrass Preventer and Lawn Weed Control at the same time?
Yes, if you apply Veri-Green Crabgrass Preventer plus Lawn Fertilizer first, water it in and then apply Lawn Weed Control while the lawn is still wet. Aim for a day where no rain is forecast for 48 hours and temperatures are under 85° and not humid for 48 hours after the herbicide application.

What is the difference between Veri-Green with Crabgrass Preventer and Season-Long Weed Preventer?
Veri-Green Crabgrass Preventer plus Lawn Fertilizer is a 2-in-1 product that kills crabgrass and fertilizes the lawn. This product acts as a pre-emergent for broadleaf weeds and a pre-and post-emergent for grassy weeds like crabgrass (up to the 3-leaf stage). Do not seed with this product as it will kill your grass seedlings.
Season-Long Weed Preventer: This is a pre-emergent product for broadleaf weeds and a pre- and post-emergent for crabgrass. There is no fertilizer in this product so it can be applied in the heat of the summer. Do not seed with this product as it will kill your grass seedlings.
For lawns with crabgrass issues, we advise applying Season-Long Weed Preventer in the beginning of June to lengthen the crabgrass prevention window of product applied in March or April. Because it has no fertilizer, it does not interfere with any other lawn application.

When can I apply broadleaf weed controls to newly seeded grass?
Before applying broadleaf weed control to newly seeded grass, you must wait until the newly sprouted grass has been mowed three times or wait at least 30 days, whichever time frame is longer.
If applied too soon after grass germination, broadleaf weed control will kill or weaken young seedlings.
Remember, the three-mow rule is for new grass only, not for seeding into an established lawn. The rate of growth for established lawns is different from that of seedlings.
Before applying any herbicide, carefully read and follow label instructions.

How to Apply
Veri-Green Crabgrass Preventer plus Lawn Fertilizer
Apply
- We recommend using a spreader to evenly distribute the product onto your lawn.
- Check to make sure the spreader opening at the bottom of the hopper is closed.
- Set the spreader according to the recommended setting on the packaging or use our Spreader Settings Tool above.
- Push the lever forward only when ready to spread.
- Apply fertilizer around the perimeter of the lawn to establish a turning area. Then run the spreader back and forth within the area outlined by your first perimeter application. Always allow an overlap to avoid gaps in coverage.
Post-Application
- Sweep any excess granules off of hard surfaces and back onto the lawn.
- Thoroughly irrigate the treated area after application for best results.
- Once watered, wait a day to mow the lawn allowing the product time to activate.
- Do not seed for 3 to 4 months after application.
