The Jonathan Green four-bag, Annual Lawn Care Program for Acidic Soil greens up the lawn and gently feeds it all season long. Lawn care research has concluded that lawns respond best when fed four times a year in the early spring, late spring, summer, and fall. This annual lawn care program is used in the eastern and midwestern United States where soils generally have a low pH. Annual Lawn Care Program for Acidic Soil is specially formulated to raise soil pH and kill crabgrass, dandelions, chickweed, clover, and over 250 other weeds.
Our system gets to the root of lawn care problems, the soil! Use Annual Lawn Care Program for Acidic Soil to balance the lawn’s pH, loosen hard, compacted soil, and spur soil microbes into action. These microbes assist air, water, and nutrients in moving deep into the soil increasing the root mass and drought tolerance of the lawn.
How to Apply:
- Early Spring – Apply Veri-Green Crabgrass Preventer plus Lawn Fertilizer to feed the lawn and provide season-long crabgrass prevention.
- Late Spring – Apply Veri-Green Weed & Feed Lawn Fertilizer to feed the lawn and kill over 250 broadleaf weeds like dandelions, chickweed, clover, and oxalis.
- Summer – Apply MAG-I-CAL® Plus for Lawns in Acidic and Hard Soils to raise soil pH, loosen hard soil and activate the soil microbial life.
- Fall – Apply Winter Survival Fall Lawn Fertilizer to feed the lawn and help prepare it for the long harsh winter ahead. Use on the same day as you seed in the early fall for optimal results.

New to this whole lawn care game. My lawn was probably the worst in the neighborhood of new homes. After endless trips to the big box stores, I finally took the advice from the owner of the local family owned garden center. He recommended Jonathan Green products and I followed his instructions. My lawn is now amazing, lush, green, thick and a pleasure to look at. I actually look forward to each step of the Jonathan Green New American Lawn Program. No, I don’t work for the company but I must say it beats everything I have ever tried. Four steps a year and easy to apply.
I have a lawn that in the past has had a LOT of issues. Even when I was taking good care of it, I could never get the results I wanted. For 2021 I swore I was going to make a change, and so I did. No more Scott’s, no more Pennington, THIS year I went with ALL Jonathan Green Products. While my lawn is not quite there yet, it’s recovery is outstanding!!! I will never go back to any other lawn product. JG is the best, and the rest are all DANG LIARS!!!
I have tried many other lawn programs and despaired that my lawn would never resemble a friend’s, whose lawn looked like a carpet (He would not tell me what he used!). I at last asked my local independent garden shop what is the best program. He sells Scott’s, but was never happy with the results, he said. What he recommended was this Jonathan Green program. I thought I’d try it, but if the lawn looked the same after a couple of months, I was going to go with a far more expensive lawn service. I am astonished, though. I have that green carpet (and I mow it high, as my friend does) with just spotty weeds, not the swaths of various weeds throughout the lawn. It’s just summer as I write and the the lawn looks amazingly good. I hope and I believe it will look just as good in the fall. I DO recommend getting the Jonathan Green spreader. I tried using my old spreader to distribute the first application of JG, and it was a guessing game in that I just barely covered the lawn. The spreader is well-made for the money (Scott’s is junk and pricey, IMO.) and the Program plus spreader are WAY cheaper than that lawn service I was considering. No, I do not work for Jonathan Green. I am just pleased that a product actually works as advertised.
By this time of year I’ve usually have a lawn full of crabgrass but not this year. The Jonathan Green Veri-Green and Crabgrass Preventer fertilizer worked better than other crabgrass preventers I’ve used.
It greened up my lawn just as good as Scotts but the color lasted longer and NO CRABGRASS! Jonathan Green works and I’m not constantly battling my lawn anymore.
I heard about the Jonathan Green annual lawn program from a neighbor. I’ve used Scott’s before but was never completely satisfied. I decided to try Jonathan Green and I’m very happy. They claim to feed the lawn and the soil. I never thought about the soil before but they must know what they are talking about because my lawn has never looked better.
Great products and very good results but don’t use a drop spreader. When I switched to a rotary spreader my lawn became much more even.
