Spreader Setting Not Listed?

If your spreader is not listed in our guide, use this rule of thumb to determine your spreader setting:

• Place enough material in the hopper to cover 1,000 square feet. Place your spreader setting on a low setting (usually one-fourth of the spreader setting range or less). Spread the material over a 50 x 20-foot area (1,000 square feet). If there is material left over, increase your setting. If you come up short, decrease your setting. While this is not a scientific method, it will put you in the ballpark.
• Keep in mind, that it is always better to under-fertilize than to over-fertilize and risk damage to the lawn.
