How can we help?

When can I mow my newly planted grass?

Answer:

Before firing up your mower after planting grass seed, wait until the grass grows in and reaches a height of approximately three inches. This is important to avoid damaging your new grass or interfering with its growth cycle.

Always remember to only mow when your lawn is dry. Never mow a wet or frosted lawn. Set your mower to a height of three inches and be mindful not to take off more than ⅓ of the grass blade at once.

Once you’ve done this, mow on a consistent schedule to ensure a healthy lawn. Keep in mind that the last mow of the season should be in November and cut shorter than normal (at approximately two inches) to ensure your grass will be protected from snow mold during the colder winter months.
