Green up your lawn without the extra mowing! Jonathan Green Veri-Green Nitrogen Rich Lawn Fertilizer contains 29% nitrogen to quickly green up your lawn and feed the grass for up to three months. With the slow and steady food release enabled by the polymer-coated nitrogen found in this product, you don’t have to worry about dealing with a surge of grass growth in the early spring. This formula is effective for all types of turfgrass plants. Veri-Green Nitrogen Rich Lawn Fertilizer is the best fertilizer to use in the early spring if crabgrass is not present.

How Do I Calculate My Lawn Size? First measure the length and width of your lawn. Then multiply the length by the width and deduct the square footage of any non-lawn areas (landscape bed, patio, deck, pool, etc.) from the total. Now you know how much product you need to purchase!

Returns

Don’t Forget These Essentials

  • Apply in the fall (between mid-August to mid-October), or in spring (between mid-March to mid-May). We do not recommend applying fertilizer when air temperatures are above 85°F.

  • 29-0-3

  • Nitrogen (Urea Nitrogen), Soluble Potash, Iron. Derived from: Polymer Coated Urea, Urea, Muriate of Potash, Ferrous Sucrate.

  • Apply as needed in the spring or fall. If this is the only fertilizer you plan on applying all year, we recommend spreading twice (once in spring and once in fall).

  • 40% Slow release: feeds the lawn for 3 months.

  • Our straight fertilizers can be applied with any of our grass seeds and soil amendments.

    We don’t recommend applying two of our weed controls or fertilizers together, as you risk burning your lawn. You can, however, apply two of these products together if one has fertilizer and the other one doesn’t. The rule of thumb is: if two products have different functions, it is usually possible to apply them together.

  • Apply to a dry lawn a day or two after mowing

  • After applying Veri-Green Starter Lawn Fertilizer for Seeding & Sodding, water your lawn to move the fertilizer to the roots. Once the grass has dried, people and pets are safe to re-enter the lawn.

  • Our recommendations for storing your fertilizer:
    Place it in a cool dry place, off of the ground, out of direct sunlight, and keep it away from moisture. Keep bags (especially that have already been opened) containing unused product in a locked storage area inaccessible to children and pets. Do not store near feed or foodstuffs.

     

    To prevent cross-contamination, do not store near open containers of fertilizer, seed or other pesticides. Under these conditions, fertilizer will last at least two years.

    • Carefully read all instructions prior to application
    • Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating or drinking
    • Do not apply near water, storm drains, or drainage ditches.
    • Do not apply if heavy rain is expected.
    • Apply this product only to your lawn or garden and sweep any product that lands on the driveway, sidewalk or street back onto your lawn or garden.
    • Be aware of local ordinance requirements concerning lawn fertilizer applications. “Black out” dates may limit or prohibit lawn fertilizer applications from late fall to early spring in certain areas.

  • Always read and follow the product label before use.

How to Apply

Apply

  • We recommend using a spreader to evenly distribute the product onto your lawn.
  • Check to make sure the spreader opening at the bottom of the hopper is closed.
  • Set the spreader according to the recommended setting on the packaging or use our Spreader Settings Tool above.
  • Push the lever forward only when ready to spread.
  • Apply fertilizer around the perimeter of the lawn to establish a turning area. Then run the spreader back and forth within the area outlined by your first perimeter application. Always allow overlap to avoid gaps in coverage.

Post-Application

  • To avoid staining, sweep any excess granules off of hard surfaces and back onto the lawn.
  • Irrigate the treated area after application for best results.
  • Once watered, wait a day to mow the lawn allowing the product time to activate.
