How can we help?

Fertilizer burn

Answer:

Fertilizer burn occurs when you apply too much fertilizer to your lawn. If this happens water, water, water as soon as possible for a few days after the application. If the grass plant is lying down, it is probably dead. If it is standing, there is a chance to save it. Remember – the recommended rate is the recommended rate, it is not a suggestion. NEVER apply traditional fertilizer when temperatures are above 85° or if high humidity is present. This may also cause fertilizer burn. Organic Lawn Food, Love Your Soil and Mag-I-Cal® Plus for Lawns in Acidic & Hard Soil will not cause fertilizer burn if applied in the heat or humidity. Grass that has been burned by fertilizer generally has a yellowish hue to it.
