The Jonathan Green Summer Lawn Care Bundle includes Summer Survival Insect Control with Lawn Fertilizer to help kill summer lawn insects, such as ants, chinch bugs, ticks, fleas, and more! It also includes fertilizer with controlled-release nitrogen specifically designed to give your lawn a slow, gentle feeding in hot weather.

In addition to Summer Survival Insect Control with Lawn Fertilizer, we also include Lawn Fungus Control to help combat common summer lawn diseases, like brown patch and red thread, that occur due to high temperatures and humidity levels. This gentle yet effective fungicide is safe to apply any time of year, including summer, to prevent the spread of turf diseases.

The key to maintaining a healthy lawn year-round is healthy soil, which is why we also include all-natural soil food, Love Your Soil®. Summertime is a great time to apply soil food, as the warm weather activates beneficial soil microbes. Love Your Soil® creates the ideal environment for grass to grow by breaking up clay, and loosening compacted soils, which improves root penetration, grass growth, and root mass.

How Do I Calculate My Lawn Size? First measure the length and width of your lawn. Then multiply the length by the width and deduct the square footage of any non-lawn areas (landscape bed, patio, deck, pool, etc.) from the total. Now you know how much product you need to purchase!

Returns

  • We offer 30-day free returns for replacement or full refund for items that are damaged or defective (shipping included). If damaged by the carrier, please file a claim with them.

  • When purchased as a bundle all three of these products should be applied in the beginning of summer (May or June depending on your region) for best results. However these products are able to be applied year round without harming the lawn.

  • Summer Survival Insect Control with Lawn Fertilizer:

    • Can be applied in the following areas: lawns, landscape beds, near buildings (residential, commercial, institutional, public, industrial, etc.), parks, recreational lawns and athletic fields.
    • This product can be applied throughout the United States and performs well on both cool and warm-season lawns.

     

    Lawn Fungus Control and Love Your Soil®:

    • These products can be applied throughout the United States and perform well on both cool and warm-season lawns.

  • Summer Survival Insect Control with Lawn Fertilizer: We recommend waiting at least 24 hours for people and pets to enter the treated area after application to allow the product to activate. After applying Summer Survival Insect Control with Lawn Fertilizer, water your lawn to move the fertilizer to the roots.

     

    Follow all label directions for products that contain pesticide controls for re-entry instructions.

     

    Lawn Fungus Control: We recommend waiting at least 24 hours for people and pets to enter the treated area after application to allow the product to activate. Keep people and pets out of the area during application.

     

    Love Your Soil®: Love Your Soil® is a natural product, meaning it is safe for children and pets to re-enter the lawn immediately after application.

  • Yes, you can apply these products on the same day one after the other.

  • Summer Survival Insect Control with Lawn Fertilizer: Controls over 15+ leaf-damaging insects, including ants, imported fire ants, mole crickets, sod webworms, chinch bugs, billbugs (adult), mealybugs, weevils (hyperodes adult), Black turfgrass ataenius (Adult), armyworms, cutworms, fleas, leafhoppers, centipedes, millipedes, ticks and chiggers.

  • Lawn Fungus Control: Red thread, large brown patch, leaf spot, leaf, crown, and root Disease, dollar spot, Ascochyta leaf blight, copper spot, fusarium patch, Zoysia patch, pink snow mold, Anthracnose (foliar and basal), Bermudagrass decline, take-all patch, necrotic ring spot, spring dead spot, coprinus snow mold, fusarium blight, gray leaf spot (blast), stripe smut, and summer patch.

  • Can I treat lawn fungus and insects at the same time?

    Yes, however, it is important to remember to carefully follow all product recommendations and package directions prior to application.

     

    If you want to prevent lawn fungus and grub/insect infestations, we suggest applying Jonathan Green Lawn Fungus Control first, then applying Grub & Insect Control second, and water it in immediately. The same goes for Summer Survival Insect Control with Lawn Fertilizer.

     

    If you are applying Organic Insect Control or Natural Grub & Insect Control, apply the Lawn Fungus Control first and water it in, then apply the insect control after the lawn is dry.

  • What is Love Your Soil®?

    Love Your Soil® is a soil amendment product that is derived from gypsum to loosen compacted soil and improve soil aeration. It also stimulates soil microbial life and aids in improving root penetration and overall grass growth.

     

    When the soil is compacted, it’s harder for nutrients and water to travel to your grass’s root system. In highly compacted soils, turfgrass roots may stop growing or growth can be dramatically reduced. This can negatively affect plant growth and in severe situations eventually cause your lawn to die altogether.

     

    Love Your Soil® is formulated with humates, calcium, sulfur, iron, and molasses, to stimulate beneficial microbes that help break down organic matter. Making your soil richer in nutrients, Love Your Soil® ultimately helps water and air travel better to your lawn’s root system.

     

    This nutrient-packed soil food can be used when seeding or sodding and is best applied to a dry lawn during the spring, summer, and fall months in temperatures of 65ºF or above.

How to Apply

Rake

Rake your lawn vigorously to remove built up thatch and debris. If you need to mow, do so one to two days before application.

Apply

Spread products on a dry lawn. For best results and an even, accurate application, we recommend using a broadcast spreader.

Set your spreader to the proper setting. Visit our Spreader Settings page to locate the proper setting for this product. Make sure to change the setting for each product.

Apply around the perimeter of the lawn to establish a turning area. Then run the spreader back and forth within the area outlined by your first perimeter application. Always allow an overlap to avoid gaps in coverage.

Important Note: 

There are restrictions concerning the use of Summer Survival Insect Control with Lawn Fertilizer near bodies of water. Do not apply this product within 25 feet of lakes, reservoirs, rivers, permanent streams, marshes, or natural ponds, natural estuaries, and commercial fish ponds.

To protect the environment, do not allow Lawn Fungus Control to enter or runoff into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters or surface waters. See the product label for further information.

Water

After applying, water the area lightly with ½ to 1 inch of water to activate the product. Once watered, wait at least one day to mow the lawn to give the product time to activate.
